AIEE active stilbene based fluorescent sensor with red-shifted emission for vapor phase detection of nitrobenzene and moisture sensing

Sanwa Rafique et al.

Summary: A novel stilbene-based sensor with enhanced red-shifted fluorescence emission was synthesized for sensitive and selective detection of nitrobenzene. The fluorescence intensity of the sensor was quenched upon interaction with nitrobenzene, which was attributed to the combined effect of the smaller size of nitrobenzene and photo-induced electron transfer process. This study provides a new approach for the detection of nitrobenzene in solution and vapor phase using an active bathochromic shifted fluorescent sensor with AIEE property.

Surface functionalization of Si6Li6 cluster with superalkalis to achieve high nonlinear optical response: A DFT study

Faiqa Khaliq et al.

Summary: In this study, the nonlinear optical response of pure and superalkali (Li3O, Na3O, and K3O) doped Si6Li6 clusters has been explored. The doping of superalkalis on the Si6Li6 cluster significantly narrowed the wide energy gap of the pure Si6Li6 cluster and exhibited electride nature. The NLO properties of superalkali doped Si6Li6 electrides, including first and second-order hyperpolarizabilities, were investigated, and a very large quadratic NLO response was observed for the Si6Li6-Li3O complex.
