AIEE active stilbene based fluorescent sensor with red-shifted emission for vapor phase detection of nitrobenzene and moisture sensing

Sanwa Rafique et al.

Summary: A novel stilbene-based sensor with enhanced red-shifted fluorescence emission was synthesized for sensitive and selective detection of nitrobenzene. The fluorescence intensity of the sensor was quenched upon interaction with nitrobenzene, which was attributed to the combined effect of the smaller size of nitrobenzene and photo-induced electron transfer process. This study provides a new approach for the detection of nitrobenzene in solution and vapor phase using an active bathochromic shifted fluorescent sensor with AIEE property.

AIEE active J-aggregates of naphthalimide based fluorescent probe for detection of Nitrobenzene: Combined experimental and theoretical approaches for Non-covalent interaction analysis

Khadija et al.

Summary: A new fluorescent probe NS, based on naphthalimide with exceptional AIEE properties through the formation of J-aggregates, was synthesized via a single-step imidation reaction. The probe exhibited excellent selectivity and sensitivity for the detection of nitrobenzene based on fluorescence quenching response. The formation of J-aggregates and the nature of interaction between the probe and nitrobenzene were investigated through fluorescence titration, solid-state fluorescence spectroscopy, and theoretical analysis.

Fluorescence based detection of industrially important and hazardous 4-Nitrophenol in real Samples: A combination of Extensive optical and theoretical studies

Khanzadi Omama Khan et al.

Summary: A triphenylamine-based fluorescent sensor T-TPA was designed with high quantum yield and exhibited aggregation induced emission enhancement (AIEE) character. It was employed for the detection of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) in solution and vapor phase, showing fluorescence turn-off response and high selectivity even in the presence of interferences. Mechanistic approaches were employed to confirm the sensing of 4-NP and non-covalent interactions were supported by NCI and QTAIM analysis.

Theoretical and experimental studies on mechanochromic triphenylamine based fluorescent ON-OFF-ON sensor for sequential detection of Fe3+and deferasirox

Abdullah Yahya Abdullah Alzahrani et al.

Summary: A novel sensor TTU, based on triphenylamine (TPA), was designed and synthesized with reversible mechanochromic and aggregation induced emission enhancement (AIEE) properties. The sensor showed distinguished selectivity and was employed for fluorometric detection of Fe3+ in aqueous medium. Furthermore, the sensor acted as a fluorescence sensor for the detection of deferasirox (DFX) by displacing Fe3+ and releasing sensor TTU. The proposed sensing mechanisms for Fe3+ and DFX were confirmed through experiments and calculations.

DFT study of transition metals doped calix-4-pyrrole with excellent electronic and non-linear optical properties

Areeba Asif et al.

Summary: A detailed comparative study was conducted on transition metal doped calix-4-pyrrole to determine their optical, electronic, and non-linear optical properties. The study found that doping of transition metals improved the diffused excess electrons, resulting in a lower energy gap. The polarizability and hyperpolarizability of the doped structures also increased significantly. Non-covalent interaction analysis and density of state diagrams showed that the interaction between the cage and dopants was mainly due to intermolecular forces. The study also confirmed the thermodynamical stability of the synthesized complexes through various calculations.

Receptor free fluorescent and colorimetric sensors for solution and vapor phase detection of hazardous pollutant nitrobenzene; a new structural approach to design AIEE active and piezofluorochromic sensors

Shumaila Majeed et al.

Summary: Two new AIEE active fluorenes were synthesized and used as receptor-free fluorescent sensors for the highly selective detection of nitrobenzene in solution and vapor phase. These sensors exhibited adjustable size cavities that allowed for the penetration of nitrobenzene, resulting in highly selective fluorescence quenching response. The sensors also displayed colorimetric detection and could be used as fluorescent ink, providing additional advantages.

Synthesis and Tetraphenylethylene-Based Aggregation-Induced Emission Probe for Rapid Detection of Nitroaromatic Compounds in Aqueous Media

Mehwish Qayyum et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that AIE-based THTPE can be used for convenient and rapid detection of nitroaromatic compounds with a detection sensitivity of 1.0 nM through a fluorescence quenching mechanism. Interaction of THTPE with different analytes was studied using Gaussian software, revealing that nitrobenzene has the strongest interaction with the sensor molecule.
