Fabrication of Electrochemical Biosensor Using Zinc Oxide Nanoflowers for the Detection of Uric Acid

Priyanka Dutta et al.

Summary: A label-free electrochemical biosensor using zinc oxide nanoflowers (ZnONFs) has been developed for the detection of uric acid concentration in human blood serum. The biosensor showed high sensitivity and a low detection limit, demonstrating the potential use of ZnONFs for sensitive uric acid detection.

Optimization of surface enhanced Raman scattering performance based on Ag nanoparticle-modified vanadium-titanium nanorods with tunable nanogaps

Wenzhi Yuan et al.

Summary: The combination of new noble metal nanomaterials and surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) technology is a promising strategy to overcome the low sensitivity in the detection of traditional Chinese medicine. In this study, Ag nanoparticles (NPs) were grown on vanadium-titanium (V-Ti) nanorods using natural cicada wing as a template, and the nanogaps between the nanorods were effectively regulated to improve the Raman signal intensity. The proposed homogeneous nanostructure exhibited high SERS activity through the synergistic effect of the electromagnetic enhancement mechanism. The technology also allowed for the screening of active compounds in traditional Chinese medicine.

Hypersensitive detection of IL-6 on SERS substrate calibrated by dual model

Ting Zhou et al.

Summary: A two-dimensional surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) substrate was successfully prepared for trace detection of Interleukin-6 (IL-6) in plasma, by capturing glycoproteins in serum and using nanoprobes modified with IL-6 antibody. The method can achieve quantitative detection of IL-6 with a detection limit of 5 pg/mL and an applicable range of 0.5-50000 pg/mL.

Enzyme-free fluorescence determination of uric acid and trace Hg(II) in serum using Si/N doped carbon dots

Dan Cao et al.

Summary: A new fluorescence probe method for the detection of Hg(II) in serum and uric acid (UA) was established, showing satisfactory results in human serum. The probe can selectively detect UA content and successfully detect UA in total serum with no significant difference compared to controls.
