Energy Flow and Functional Behavior of Individual Muscles at Different Speeds During Human Walking

Zheqi Hu et al.

Summary: This study aims to determine the contribution of major muscles and the energy flow in the human musculoskeletal system during walking at different speeds. Gait experiments were performed, and muscle forces and mechanical work were calculated. The results showed that different muscles play different roles in energy absorption and generation during different phases of walking. These findings provide insights into human musculoskeletal behaviors during locomotion and can be applied in the bio-design of assistive devices.

Sine-SSA-BP Ship Trajectory Prediction Based on Chaotic Mapping Improved Sparrow Search Algorithm

Yuanzhou Zheng et al.

Summary: In this study, a Sine chaos mapping-based improved sparrow search algorithm (SSA) is proposed to optimize the BP neural network for trajectory prediction of inland river vessels. The Sine-SSA-BP model effectively improves the initialized population of uniform distribution and reduces premature convergence. The test results show that the Sine-SSA-BP neural network has higher prediction accuracy and better stability compared to conventional LSTM and SVM, especially in predicting corners, which aligns well with real ship navigation trajectories.

Physical-Model-Aided Data-Driven Linear Power Flow Model: An Approach to Address Missing Training Data

Zhentong Shao et al.

Summary: Data-driven linear power flow (DL-PF) models are widely used due to their accuracy, but training data may be insufficient in practice, leading to unreasonable results. To address this issue, this letter proposes a physical-model-aided data-driven linear power flow (PD-LPF) model that introduces physical model parameters to assist the training process, ensuring linearization accuracy for critical operating points. The PD-LPF model is applicable for both transmission and distribution systems, and exhibits excellent accuracy and robustness under severe missing-data conditions when compared to current LPF models.

Jerk-bounded trajectory planning for rotary flexible joint manipulator: an experimental approach

Hazrat Bilal et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the trajectory tracking and vibration control of a rotary flexible joint manipulator with parametric uncertainties. The dynamic modeling for a single-link flexible joint manipulator is discussed, and a bounded and continuous jerk trajectory is developed for smooth motion between two points. The proposed algorithm allows users to define the position, velocity, acceleration, and jerk values at both initial and final positions, providing versatility for generating trajectories for diverse applications of robotic manipulators. The performance of the algorithm is examined through comparison with cubic splines and LSPB techniques.

A practical study of active disturbance rejection control for rotary flexible joint robot manipulator

Hazrat Bilal et al.

Summary: This research presents a practical study of active disturbance rejection control law (ADRC) for the control of robotic manipulators in the presence of uncertainties. The control objective of the proposed control law is to track the trajectory accurately and rejects the disturbance caused by robotic manipulators. Experimental results show that high precision position control as well as vibration suppression can be achieved with the proposed controller, which is superior to LQR and PID controllers.

A data-driven approach for intrusion and anomaly detection using automated machine learning for the Internet of Things

Hao Xu et al.

Summary: Cyber-attacks and network intrusion are significant concerns for IoT applications. Existing intrusion detection and prevention techniques have limitations in precisely detecting attacks or anomalies in network traffic. Researchers have presented machine learning-based algorithms, but they lack accuracy or performance in multi-class classification. This research introduces a data-driven approach for intrusion and anomaly detection, improving the training dataset with SMOTE algorithm and mutual information. Automated machine learning is used to detect the optimal algorithm for classification without manual hyper-parameter tuning. The resulting algorithm achieves 99.7% accuracy, outperforming existing algorithms.

A Hybrid-Convolution Spatial-Temporal Recurrent Network For Traffic Flow Prediction

Xu Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a Multi-attention based Hybrid-convolution Spatial-temporal Recurrent Network (MHSRN) for region-based traffic flow prediction. The model leverages a hybrid-convolution module to capture shifting features and rich information at the nearest timestamps, and applies the downsampling procedure to reduce computation. Furthermore, a space-aware multi-attention module is used to re-perceive global and local spatial-temporal features. Experimental results demonstrate that MHSRN outperforms other baselines on various datasets.
