Tailored Cysteine-Derived Molecular Structures toward Efficient and Stable Inorganic Perovskite Solar Cells

Hao Zhang et al.

Summary: The main culprits causing poor stability and non-radiative charge recombination in inorganic perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are identified on the surface of the perovskite material. A new passivator, BMBC, is designed to suppress halide vacancies and coordinate with undercoordinated Pb2+ through Lewis base-acid reactions. This passivation method reduces surface trap density, increases grain size, prolongs charge lifetime, and achieves more suitable energy-level alignment, resulting in increased efficiency and improved stability of the PSCs.

Controlled growth of perovskite layers with volatile alkylammonium chlorides

Jaewang Park et al.

Summary: Controlling the crystallinity and surface morphology of perovskite layers is crucial for achieving high-efficiency perovskite solar cells. By adding alkylammonium chlorides (RACl) to a-formamidinium lead iodide (FAPbI(3)), the crystallization process and surface morphology of the perovskite thin films can be controlled. The resulting perovskite thin layers facilitate the fabrication of perovskite solar cells with a high power-conversion efficiency of 26.08%.

Fluorine-Containing Passivation Layer via Surface Chelation for Inorganic Perovskite Solar Cells

Hao Zhang et al.

Summary: To improve the power conversion efficiency and stability of inorganic perovskite solar cells, a trifluoroacetamidine (TFA) passivator was designed to suppress film defects. TFA strongly chelates onto the perovskite surface to suppress iodide vacancy, and intermolecular hydrogen bonds form a robust shield against moisture. TFA-treated solar cells exhibited significantly suppressed recombination and achieved the highest record power conversion efficiencies for all-inorganic solar cells.

Over 8% efficient CsSnI3-based mesoporous perovskite solar cells enabled by two-step thermal annealing and surface cationic coordination dual treatment

Huaxia Ban et al.

Summary: Inorganic tin halide perovskite compounds, such as CsSnI3, have attracted attention due to their eco-friendly properties. Fabricating high-quality CsSnI3 perovskite films with low defect density is challenging. In this study, a simple yet effective method was proposed to modulate the growth and nucleation of CsSnI3 crystals to obtain well-crystallized thin films. Introducing 1-(4-carboxyphenyl)-2-thiourea significantly decreased the defect density. CsSnI3 perovskite solar cells achieved a power conversion efficiency of 8.03% with high reproducibility using a printable mesoporous framework.
