Revealing the strain-associated physical mechanisms impacting the performance and stability of perovskite solar cells

Wei Meng et al.

Summary: Identification and investigation of strain at buried interfaces in halide perovskite photovoltaics are crucial for directing research on the performance and stability of perovskite solar cells. In this work, we find that interfacial strain causes a gradual shift in the band gap, which is desired for device engineering. However, the increased defect density leads to charge recombination and ion migration, resulting in decreased performance.

B-site doping of CsPbI3 quantum dot to stabilize the cubic structure for high-efficiency solar cells

Xin Huang et al.

Summary: The phase transition of colloidal perovskite CsPbI3 quantum dots during synthesis and purification processes is mainly induced by the increase in particle size. Doping Mn and Zn into the quantum dots helps to stabilize the cubic structure, enhance the Pb-I binding energy, and reduce defects and trap density. The doped QD solar cells show significantly higher power conversion efficiency compared to undoped samples.
