Co-electrodeposited poly (3, 4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT)-multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) hybrid electrodes based solid-state supercapacitors using ionic liquid gel electrolyte for energy storage with pulsed power capabilities

Amr M. Obeidat et al.

Summary: The electrochemical and energy storage properties of a hybrid material consisting of poly(styrene sulfonate) doped poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythio-phene) (PEDOT:PSS) conducting polymer and multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) were investigated for solid-state supercapacitor applications. The PEDOT:PSS-MWCNT composite electrodes were prepared by co-electrodeposition using a surfactant, PSS dopant, and EDOT monomer. The composite electrode exhibited high specific capacitance and electrical double layer capacitance, and the optimized supercapacitors showed excellent charge-discharge performance and stability over cycling.

Introducing a redox-active ferrocenyl moiety onto a polythiophene derivative towards high-performance flexible all-solid-state symmetric supercapacitors

Bulin Chen et al.

Summary: This article proposes a new design strategy to introduce redox-active metal-organic fragments onto the backbone of conductive polymers for flexible all-solid-state supercapacitor applications. The metallopolymer-coated carbonaceous electrodes prepared in this study show a high specific capacitance and excellent morphologies. The all-solid-state symmetric supercapacitor devices assembled with these electrodes exhibit ultrahigh capacitance, extraordinary cycling performance, excellent mechanical stability, and superior energy and power densities compared to previous flexible all-solid-state devices.

High-stable, outstanding heat resistance ionogel electrolyte and the poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) electrodes with excellent long-term stability for all-solid-state supercapacitor

Tiejun Mao et al.

Summary: A ionogel electrolyte composed of polyacrylamide (PAAm) network and ionic liquid [VMIM][TFSI] was prepared, which showed high thermal stability and conductivity. When used in an all-solid-state supercapacitor with PEDOT/CC electrodes, the energy density reached 14.22 Wh kg(-1), meeting commercial device requirements and showing increased capacitance performance at 90 degrees C.

Sulfonic-acid-functionalized polymers based on fluorinated methylstyrenes and styrene as promising heterogeneous catalysts for esterification

Joanna Wolska et al.

Summary: Novel sulfonic-acid-functionalized poly(F-STs-co-ST) copolymers based on fluorinated methylstyrenes and styrene were successfully synthesized via post-sulfonation method. The fluoropolymers demonstrated high catalytic performance in esterification reactions and maintained high activities for up to five consecutive runs. The presence of fluorinated substituents in the polymer structure was found to enhance the catalytic activity of the resulting catalysts.
