In-situ growth of robust and superhydrophilic nano-skin on electrospun Janus nanofibrous membrane for oil/water emulsions separation

Bingbing Cheng et al.

Summary: A simple method is developed to grow superhydrophilic nanocoating on a PVDF fiber surface, which enables the fabrication of asymmetric wettable Janus PVDF fibrous membranes with high separation efficiency for oil/water emulsions. These Janus membranes with opposite wettability exhibit excellent separation efficiency, high flux, antibacterial activity, and antifoul properties. They also show remarkable flux cycling stability and retained separation efficiency after multiple cycles, making them promising for oily wastewater treatment and water purification.

A review on treatment technologies for printing and dyeing wastewater (PDW)

Ugochukwu Ewuzie et al.

Summary: This study reviews the literature on various technologies used for the treatment of printing and dyeing wastewater (PDW). It reveals that adsorption, membrane technology, and biological processes are effective in removing contaminants from PDW, while advanced oxidation processes are the most viable technique due to its simplicity, efficiency, and economic benefits. The study also highlights future prospects such as product recovery, modeling and optimization of printing and dyeing processes, and zero liquid and waste discharge.
