Investigation of admission serum creatinine as a predictor of hospital length of stay in triple-vaccinated COVID-19 inpatients

Erasmia Rouka et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the association between admission kidney function and the duration of hospitalization in triple-vaccinated COVID-19 inpatients during the omicron surge in Larissa, central Greece. The results showed that admission serum creatinine was associated with hospital length of stay. Therefore, further evaluation of admission serum creatinine concentration as a potential clinical predictor of hospital length of stay among triple-vaccinated COVID-19 inpatients is warranted at both national and global levels.

Metabolic Basis of Creatine in Health and Disease: A Bioinformatics-Assisted Review

Diego A. Bonilla et al.

Summary: Creatine is a vital molecule synthesized mainly in the liver, kidneys, and pancreas, with its transportation and metabolism playing a crucial role in cellular bioenergetics. The CK/PCr system, essential for cell survival and growth, acts as a dynamic biosensor based on chemo-mechanical energy transduction, impacting various tissues and contributing to a wide range of diseases through dysregulation in Cr metabolism.

Creatine for Exercise and Sports Performance, with Recovery Considerations for Healthy Populations

Benjamin Wax et al.

Summary: Creatine supplementation can enhance short-duration, high-intensity exercise performance, improve exercise training adaptations, and speed up recovery time. However, conflicting findings exist regarding the potential ergogenic benefits of creatine during endurance-type exercise and in athletic tasks where an increase in body mass may hinder performance.
