Reasonable construction of 2D porous NiO/Co3O4 nanosheets for efficient detection of xylene

Jing Zhang et al.

Summary: P-type semiconductor materials with multivalent characteristics and high catalytic activity have been synthesized in this paper. The gas sensing test shows that the 6 wt% NiO/Co3O4 based sensor exhibits the highest response to 100 ppm xylene at a relatively low temperature, with good selectivity and long-term stability. The enhanced sensing performance is attributed to the high specific surface area and the formation of p-p heterojunctions. The research results further clarified the response mechanism of xylene.

Highly Sensitive and Selective Real-Time Breath Isoprene Detection using the Gas Reforming Reaction of MOF-Derived Nanoreactors

Seon Ju Park et al.

Summary: Real-time breath isoprene sensing provides non-invasive methods for monitoring human metabolism and early diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases. In this work, Co3O4@polyoxometalate yolk-shell structures were derived and showed selective isoprene detection with high chemiresistive response and low detection limit. The sensor's high performance is attributed to electronic sensitization and catalytic promotion effects, and its practical feasibility is demonstrated in smart healthcare applications.

Metal-organic frameworks-derived Mn-doped Co3O4 porous nanosheets and enhanced CO sensing performance

Cong Qin et al.

Summary: In this study, Mn-doped Co3O4 nanosheets were fabricated for carbon monoxide (CO) detection, showing significantly enhanced sensing properties. The improved CO-sensing performance is likely attributed to the high specific surface area, abundant oxygen vacancies generated by Mn doping, and the relatively high Co3+/Co2+ ratio.
