Regulating the N Coordination Environment of Co Single-Atom Nanozymes for Highly Efficient Oxidase Mimics

Zhe Li et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that the oxidase-like activity of single-atom Co catalysts greatly depends on their local N coordination around the Co catalytic sites. We synthesized a series of Co single-atom catalysts with different nitrogen coordination numbers (Co-Nx(C), x = 2, 3, and 4) and demonstrated that the oxidase-like activity of single-atom Co catalysts could be effectively tailored by fine-tuning the N coordination. Among the studied single-atom Co catalysts, the Co-N3(C) with three-coordinate N atoms shows the optimum oxygen adsorption structure and robust reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, thus presenting the preferable oxidase-like catalytic activity. This work facilitates the future development of rational nanozyme designs for targeting reactions at the atomic level.

3D DNA walker recognition-driven homogeneous dual-mode sensing strategy based on enzyme biofuel cell for ultrasensitive detection of HER2

Yang-Yang Hou et al.

Summary: An ultrasensitive enzyme biofuel cell (EBFC) based self-powered biosensor is developed for dual-mode detection of HER2. Graphdiyne (GDY) and tetragonal molybdenum disulfide (1T MoS2) are used to construct high-performance EBFC. Threedimensional (3D) DNA Walker triggers hybrid chain reaction (HCR) cascade strategy is employed to improve the assay's output signal intensity and selectivity. Additionally, a capacitor is matched to EBFC for magnifying the electrical signals and boosting the analytical performance. The developed ultrasensitive dual-mode assay exhibits an expanded linear response range and low detection limit for HER2, providing a powerful tool for accurate detection of cancer marker.

Cu (II) decorated thiol-functionalized MOF as an efficient transfer medium of charge carriers promoting photocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Siman Mao et al.

Summary: A new hierarchical photocatalyst SCu-CZS is designed with CdS/ZnS quantum dots loaded on Cu (II) decorated thiol-functionalized UiO-66 metal-organic frameworks for efficient water splitting. The decoration of Cu (II) transforms the charge carrier transfer mechanism, significantly improving the photocatalytic performance for hydrogen evolution. This work suggests that MOF can serve as an efficient charge carrier transfer medium, providing a new idea for MOF-based photocatalysts.
