Comparative Effects of Energy-Related Saline Wastewaters and Sodium Chloride on Hatching, Survival, and Fitness-Associated Traits of Two Amphibian Species

Brian J. Tornabene et al.

Summary: The study found that high-salinity wastewaters from energy extraction mainly affect amphibians due to NaCl, with chorus frogs being more sensitive to salinity than leopard frogs. Contrary to previous studies, larvae were more sensitive to salinity than eggs in both species.
