Renlong Tang et al.

Summary: In this study, the influence of ammonia content on the performance of FA-based CPB was investigated. It was found that with the increase in ammonia content, the yield stress and viscosity of the FA-based CPB slurry increased, while the slump value decreased. The uniaxial compressive strength and elastic modulus of FA-based CPB decreased as the ammonia content of FA increased. The results provide reference for the green and efficient use of ammonium-containing FA.

A shear constitutive model and experimental demonstration considering dual void portion and solid skeleton portion of rock

Jie Xin et al.

Summary: Shear deformation and failure are common in engineering rock, and developing a constitutive model to understand these behaviors is crucial for stability assessment in geotechnical engineering. A dual-structure shear constitutive model was designed, considering both the void portion and solid skeleton portion of the rock. This model successfully characterized the complete evolution of shearing deformation in four geological materials, including compaction, elasticity, hardening, softening, bimodal phenomenon, and residual stages. The micro-level analysis revealed three stages of damage deterioration in the solid skeleton, and the importance of Weibull parameters (m, u0) in indicating the brittle failure characteristics and peak strain/strength of the rock. Furthermore, physical shear experiments were conducted on cemented paste backfill-rock, and the bimodal shear failure mechanism was comprehensively analyzed using the proposed constitutive model.

Recycling utilization of phosphogypsum in eco excess-sulphate cement: Synergistic effects of metakaolin and slag additives on hydration, strength and microstructure

Ziyan Wang et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the effect of metakaolin on early hydration, phase assemblages, and mechanical properties of excess-sulphate phosphogypsum cementitious materials. It is found that metakaolin can shorten the setting time and increase the compressive strength. When the dosage of metakaolin is below 20%, there is an increase in ettringite and highly disordered C-(A)-S-H gel, leading to a significant increase in compressive strength. However, exceeding 20% metakaolin dosage reduces the hydration degree at the late stage.
