Survival and Movement Patterns of Rainbow Trout Stocked in a Groundwater-Influenced Warmwater Stream

Skylar L. Wolf et al.

Summary: Stocked Rainbow Trout dispersed up to 4 km from the stocking location but mostly remained within 1 km. Survival rates were lowest in the first 2 weeks poststocking and increased through winter and spring, reaching 99% by the end of spring. Trout persisted in the stream throughout summer, but survival rates declined when water temperatures exceeded 25 degrees C.
