The synergistic catalysis mechanisms include the hydrophobic micro-environment created by the PILs, the mesoporous confinement that enhances substrate concentration, and the active hydrogen transfer of the Bronsted-Lewis acid sites.

Click approach to the novel 1,2,3-triazolium phosphotungstate organic-inorganic hybrids for the highly promoted synthesis of spirooxindoles

Summary: The synthesis and catalytic activity of three 1,2,3-triazole-based ionic organic-inorganic hybrids as novel water-soluble catalysts for the efficient preparation of spirooxindole derivatives were described. These catalysts showed excellent catalytic activity in the three-component reaction of 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds, barbituric acid, and isatin derivatives in water. The introduced organic-inorganic hybrids exhibited advantages such as clean and straightforward preparation, green conditions, ease of recovery, and reusability up to three repeated runs without significant decrease in catalytic stability.
