Future studies should focus on racial and ethnic-specific differences in PCOS and include a diverse population in PCOS research.

Efficacy and safety of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for fibromyalgia: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Summary: This study conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate the efficacy and safety of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) for fibromyalgia (FM). The results showed that HBOT could alleviate pain and improve tender points, fatigue, multidimensional function, patient global assessment, and sleep disturbance in FM, with reversible side effects. Evaluating HBOT at pressures lower than 2.0 atmospheres absolute may help reduce adverse events in FM.

Fibromyalgia Syndrome Pain in Men and Women: A Scoping Review

Summary: This study aims to explore the assessment of pain, differences in pain characteristics between men and women with fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS), and how pain manifests in patients. It was found that women with FMS have higher subjective perception and widespread pain. On the other hand, men have a worse impact of the disease, more painful experiences, and more catastrophic thoughts about pain. Understanding whether pain differs according to sex in FMS can aid clinicians in making earlier diagnoses and providing better treatment for patients.
