Solar PV network installation standards and cost estimation guidelines for smart cities

Sushmita Sarkar et al.

Summary: The importance of Quality Certification and Standards for the successful large-scale implementation of solar PV technology in smart cities is highlighted. The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) plays a crucial role in developing and adopting PV standards, with nearly 80 standards applicable to photovoltaic. The paper also discusses the PV standards developed by various technical committees worldwide and provides an illustrative example of the breakdown costs of a PV installation in India.

Experimental comparison between Monocrystalline, Polycrystalline, and Thin-film solar systems under sunny climatic conditions

Osama Ayadi et al.

Summary: Solar photovoltaic (PV) is the fastest growing renewable energy technology in terms of installed capacity worldwide. A study conducted on a solar field in Jordan for six years found that different PV technologies have varying performance indicators, with the Mono South system achieving the highest efficiency and the Thin-film south system recording the lowest efficiency.

Investigation of the energy output from PV panels based on using different orientation systems in Amman-Jordancorlowast

Saad S. Alrwashdeh

Summary: Energy problems are considered crucial for both the world and Jordan, with the latter heavily relying on traditional energy sources. The study shows that solar energy is the most promising and abundant renewable energy source in Jordan, with landscape arrangements of photoelectric cells proving to be more efficient in energy production compared to portrait arrangements, resulting in a 13.7% increase in energy production.

Study of the influence of dust deposits on photovoltaic solar panels: Case of Nouakchott

Sara Lasfar et al.

Summary: Experimental investigations were conducted to understand the effect of dust on the electrical performance of PV modules under real weather conditions in Mauritania. The results showed disturbances in I-V and P-V curves, decreased short-circuit current and current at maximum power for dusty panels compared to clean panels. Dust accumulation on the module's surface significantly reduced the conversion efficiency of PV modules.
