Prediction Model of Immunosuppressive Medication Non-adherence for Renal Transplant Patients Based on Machine Learning Technology

Xiao Zhu et al.

Summary: This study aimed to predict adherence to immunosuppressive medication (IM) in Chinese renal transplant patients (RTPs) and developed a predictive model using machine learning techniques. The study found a high non-adherence rate to IM, and factors such as age, marital status, perceived barriers, pill box usage after transplantation, and family support were identified as important predictors in the model.

Exploration of Adherence to the Immunosuppressive Medication in Kidney Transplant Recipients Based on Theory of Planned Behavior

Luo Yang et al.

Summary: This study investigated adherence to immunosuppressive medication (IM) in kidney transplant recipients (KTRs) and analyzed the associated factors using the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). The results showed that adherence to IM was related to past behavior, beliefs about medicines, and perceived social support. TPB is a useful tool for understanding adherence to IM in KTRs.

Application of machine learning algorithms for localized syringe services program policy implementation - Florida, 2017

Tyler S. Bartholomew et al.

Summary: This study identified high-priority locations for implementing syringe services programs (SSPs) in Florida by analyzing state-level data related to substance use and overdose crises. The results showed that high-priority SSP implementation areas were found in both urban and rural communities, including those outside of current Ending the HIV Epidemic counties.

Immunosuppressive Medication Adherence in Kidney Transplant Recipients During the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Cross-Sectional Study in Hong Kong

Chi Yuen Cheung et al.

Summary: The study found that during the COVID-19 pandemic, the adherence rate to immunosuppressive medications in kidney transplant recipients was 35.2%. The impact of the pandemic on medication adherence was not significant, with good family support having a positive influence on treatment adherence in kidney transplant recipients.

Identification of Immunosuppressive Medication Nonadherence Factors Through a Combined Theory Model in Renal Transplant Recipients 6-12

Pengpeng Zhang et al.

Summary: The study aimed to enhance the predictive ability of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) by incorporating variables from the Health Belief Model (HBM) in renal transplant patients. Factors such as marital status, household income, preoperative drinking history, time after transplantation, and religion were independently associated with immunosuppressive medication nonadherence. Adding HBM variables to the TPB model significantly improved prediction accuracy, with perceived barriers and seriousness playing a crucial role in medication adherence.

Regularized Ordinal Regression and the ordinalNet R Package

Michael J. Wurm et al.

Summary: The study proposed a new algorithm for ordinal regression that can be applied to model ordered or unordered categorical response data. This approach generalizes to a more flexible form and can shrink non-ordinal models towards their ordinal counterparts.
