Corrosion behavior of a novel Mg-13Li-X alloy with different grain sizes by rapid solidification rate

Bao-Liang Wu et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the corrosion behavior of a novel Mg-13Li-X alloy fabricated by a rapid solidification process. The results show that the grain size of the alloy significantly affects its corrosion resistance. Smaller grain size leads to more positive corrosion potential and lower corrosion current density, indicating better corrosion resistance.

Effects of CO2 gassy-supercritical phase transition on corrosion behaviors of carbon steels in saturated vapor environment

Zeng De-zhi et al.

Summary: The corrosion behaviors of P110 and N80 tubular steels in CO2 gas phase and supercritical (S-CO2) phase were studied in a saturated water vapor environment using corrosion weight loss experiments and analytical techniques such as SEM, EDS, XRD, XPS, and cross-section analysis. The average corrosion rate initially increased and then decreased with increasing CO2 partial pressure, reaching a maximum value near the critical pressure. Subsequently, as the CO2 partial pressure exceeded the critical pressure, the average corrosion rate gradually decreased and local aggregation of molecules weakened.

Effect of Mg and Si on intermetallic formation and fracture behavior of pure aluminum-galvanized carbon-steel joints made by weld-brazing

A. Alikhani et al.

Summary: Commercial pure aluminum and galvanized carbon steel were lap-welded using the weld-brazing (WB) technique, with three types of aluminum filler materials (4043, 4047, and 5356) used for WB. The study analyzed and compared joint strength and intermetallic compounds present at the interface, finding that the Mg element in the 5356 filler material cannot contribute to the formation of Al-Fe intermetallic phases.
