ZnSnO3 based gas sensors for pyridine volatile marker detection in rice aging during storage

Jinyong Xu et al.

Summary: This study developed a ZnSnO3 based gas sensor for detecting pyridine in rice aging. The sensor, decorated with g-C3N4, showed high sensitivity, short response/recovery time, and low detection limit, attributed to the catalysis of g-C3N4 nanosheets, the decorated microstructure, and the formation of heterojunctions. Practical experiments demonstrated its higher sensitivity towards volatiles generated from Japonica rice aging compared to Indica rice and Polished Glutinous rice, suggesting its potential application in quality inspection of rice and other products.

High-response n-butanol gas sensor based on ZnO/In2O3 heterostructure

Zhen-Yu Yuan et al.

Summary: ZnO/In2O3-heterostructured nanosheets were prepared using a hydrothermal method, and the gas-sensing performance was studied. The results showed that ZnO/In2O3-2 exhibited the highest response to n-butanol, with a higher response temperature compared to pure In2O3. The doping of Zn2+ increased the number of oxygen vacancies and allowed the formation of an n-n heterostructure between ZnO and In2O3, thereby increasing the initial resistance of the sensor.
