Examining the validity and consistency of the Adult Eating Behaviour Questionnaire-Espanol (AEBQ-Esp) and its relationship to BMI in a Mexican population

Claudia Hunot-Alexander et al.

Summary: The AEBQ-Esp (excluding Hunger) is a valid and reliable psychometric questionnaire for measuring appetitive traits in Mexican Spanish-speaking population. Some traits like Satiety Responsiveness and Slowness in Eating are negatively associated with BMI, while Emotional Over-Eating is positively associated with BMI. Further exploration is needed to understand the associations between these traits and weight in adulthood.

Susceptibility to increased high energy dense sweet and savoury food intake in response to the COVID-19 lockdown: The role of craving control and acceptance coping strategies

Nicola J. Buckland et al.

Summary: The study highlighted that during the COVID-19 lockdown, 48% of participants reported an increase in food intake, with low craving control being the strongest predictor for increased intake of high energy dense sweet and savory foods. Low cognitive restraint was also found to predict greater increases in these food categories. Targeting interventions focused on craving control may help reduce overeating during lockdowns, as shown in previous research findings.

Energy Balance and Control of Body Weight: Possible Effects of Meal Timing and Circadian Rhythm Dysregulation

Alessio Basolo et al.

Summary: Maintaining energy balance is a dynamic process that involves adjusting energy intake and expenditure to ensure an adequate food supply. The circadian rhythm plays a crucial role in maintaining bodily equilibrium by regulating various physiological functions to meet environmental demands. Disruptions in daily habits may disrupt this balance and contribute to the development of diseases such as obesity.
