Production and characterization of a fusion form of hepatitis E virus tORF2 capsid protein in Escherichia coli

Mohamed Boumaiza et al.

Summary: This study successfully expressed a truncated form of the capsid protein of Hepatitis E virus (HEV) in Escherichia coli, which proved to be efficient for developing an ELISA test for detecting anti-HEV IgG. The fused Glutathione-S-Transferase-tagged tORF2 (GST-tORF2) and tORF2-HEV proteins showed promising potential for diagnostic applications in the future.

Investigation of the optimal medium and application strategy for foot-and-mouth disease vaccine antigen production

A. -Y. Kim et al.

Summary: This study aimed to find the optimal medium for large-scale production of FMD vaccine, focusing on effective production of 146S particles. Through comparative assessment of commercial media, Cellvento BHK-200 (Vento) with a 30% addition strategy was found to be highly productive and cost-effective, making scale-up process easy and efficient.

STEP® vectors for rapid generation of stable transfected CHO cell pools and clones with high expression levels and product quality homogeneity of difficult-to-express proteins

Abhinav Luthra et al.

Summary: The translation efficiency and selection strength of the STEP (R) vector technology can be controlled to maximize the expression of any gene of interest. This technology allows for rapid production of difficult-to-express proteins with high quality and homogeneity. Compared to traditional methods, STEP (R) vector technology is ideally suited for small to large-scale production of these proteins.

Development of a suitable manufacturing process for production of a bioactive recombinant equine chorionic gonadotropin (reCG) in CHO-K1 cells

Carlos Javier Villarraza et al.

Summary: The study presented an efficient process using third-generation lentiviral vectors for producing reCG in suspension CHO-K1 cells, with high productivities and purification yields. The reCG showed biological activity in cattle, requiring only around 30 µg to exert the same effect as 400 IU of PMSG in ovulation synchronization. This strategy offers a promising alternative for reCG production and could potentially replace the use of animals as a source of PMSG.

Fusion Expression and Immune Effect of PCV2 Cap Protein Tandem Multiantigen Epitopes with CD154/GM-CSF

Qian Mao et al.

Summary: Porcine circovirus associated diseases (PCVAD) is a contagious disease of swine caused by porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2). The study found that CD154 and GM-CSF can enhance the effectiveness of PCV2 vaccines, producing higher levels of antibodies and enhancing cellular immune responses, significantly reducing viral loads and increasing transcription levels of cytokines post-challenge.
