Single-step treatment to improve conductivity of PEDOT:PSS by hydrobromic acid solution for application of transparent electrode

Muhammad Zeshan Ali et al.

Summary: Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonic acid) (PEDOT:PSS) is an organic conducting material with tunable conductivity, high transparency, facile processability and stability. Treatment with DMSO solvent and hydrobromic acid solution in DMSO significantly improves the electrical conductivity of PEDOT:PSS. The mechanism of the conductivity improvement is attributed to the diffusion of DMSO and HBr-DMSO solution into PEDOT:PSS, resulting in charge screening and weakening of the electrostatic interactions. The treated PEDOT:PSS films exhibit low sheet resistance and high transparency, making them suitable for optoelectronic applications such as organic solar cells.

Effect of Electrical Stimulation Conditions on Neural Stem Cells Differentiation on Cross-Linked PEDOT:PSS Films

Laura Sordini et al.

Summary: This study explores the use of a conjugated polymer for the manufacture of conductive substrates to support the culture and differentiation of neural stem cells. It demonstrates that pulsed DC stimulation is the most efficient method for promoting the differentiation of NSCs into neurons. The findings provide a potential therapeutic approach for cell therapies to treat neurodegenerative diseases.

Concurrent Enhancement of Conductivity and Stability in Water of Poly(3,4-Ethylenedioxythiophene):Poly(Styrenesulfonate) Films Using an Oxetane Additive

Sara M. Jorge et al.

Summary: In this work, water-resistant films of PEDOT:PSS with enhanced conductivity were prepared by adding one reagent, 3-methyl-3-oxetanemethanol, to aqueous dispersions. The stability of the films was attributed to covalent cross-linking of benzene rings and polyether chains. Phase-segregation within the PEDOT:cross-linked PSS film was suggested to improve conductivity.
