Waste tea residue adsorption coupled with electrocoagulation for improvement of copper and nickel ions removal from simulated wastewater

Nizeyimana Jean Claude et al.

Summary: This research focuses on using green waste tea residue as an activated adsorbent for removing copper and nickel ions from wastewater. The ADS/EC process with iron electrodes achieved high removal efficiency for both metals. The study also found that the Langmuir and pseudo-second-order models fit the experimental data well, indicating the adsorbent's high adsorption capacity. The findings offer a promising solution for recycling metal-based industrial effluents and tea industry waste.

Physico-Chemical and Kinetic Evaluation of a Combined Vertical Settler/Self-Aerated Unit for Wastewater Treatment and Reuse

Mohamed A. El-Khateeb

Summary: Water resource limitation is a global crisis, and this study introduces a compact unit for wastewater treatment using a vertical settler and a self-aerated chamber. Experimental results demonstrate that the unit is effective in removing COD and nitrogen from wastewater, meeting national regulatory requirements, with the need for a disinfection step for safe reuse of the treated effluent.
