Relationship between mindfulness, depression, anxiety and stress: Mediating role of self-efficacy

Summary: The study found a positive correlation between mindfulness and self-efficacy, while a negative correlation was observed between mindfulness and anxiety, stress, and depression. Additionally, self-efficacy showed negative correlations with anxiety, stress, and depression. Furthermore, self-efficacy played a partial mediating role in the relationship between mindfulness, stress, depression, and anxiety according to the mediation analysis results.

Summary: The majority of medical students reported stress levels ranging from moderate to extreme. Higher stress levels were significantly associated with female gender (p=0.039) and international status (p=0.031). Reported stress was also significantly associated with the transition to online learning, online assessment formatting, concerns for personal health, concerns for family members' health, and confidence in government crisis management. Students who reported lower stress had positive views on their medical school's response to the crisis.

Acceptance and commitment group therapy among Saudi Muslim females with mental health disorders

Summary: This study examined the acceptance, feasibility, and clinical impact of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in a group format for Saudi women with depression and anxiety disorders. The results showed that ACT was effective in reducing symptoms of depression and anxiety, improving attitudes and behavior, and increasing self-confidence among Muslim Saudi women. The ACT group therapy was well-appreciated and culturally and religiously acceptable by the participants, suggesting it can help enhance the psychological well-being of Saudi women.
