A comparison of reward processing during Becker-DeGroot-Marschak and Vickrey auctions: An ERP study

A. Newton-Fenner et al.

Summary: A study comparing the neural correlates of outcome feedback processing in VA and BDM auctions using electroencephalography found that VA tasks elicited stronger cortical responses during bid outcome processing, specifically in a potential component associated with emotional control. Additionally, face-sensitive potentials were observed in VA auctions but not in BDM auctions. These findings suggest that the social-competitive aspect of auction tasks modulates bid outcome processing.

An ALE meta-analytic review of top-down and bottom-up processing of music in the brain

Victor Pando-Naude et al.

Summary: The human brain has the ability to integrate information from the environment with internally generated content, but the integration of top-down and bottom-up processes during complex multi-modal human activities is yet to be fully understood. Music listening leads to the urge to move, and music making entails both playing and listening, requiring different brain structures to process similar information.
