Toxocara canis and Toxocara cati Somatic and Excretory-Secretory Antigens Are Recognised by C-Type Lectin Receptors

Marie-Kristin Raulf et al.

Summary: Toxocara canis and Toxocara cati, intestinal roundworms of canids and felids, pose a public health threat due to various disease manifestations in humans. Host recognition of these pathogens is mediated by CLRs, with MGL-1 and MCL identified as promising candidates for immune modulation during Toxocara infection. Further investigation is needed to understand the full range of host-derived CLRs recognizing Toxocara spp.
