Gene expression profiling before and after internode culture for adventitious shoot formation in ipecac

Karin Okazaki et al.

Summary: The study used RNA-seq analysis to compare gene expression patterns in apical and basal regions of internodal segments before and after a week of culture for adventitious shoot formation. The results identified 8987 differentially expressed genes, with 276 genes being upregulated in the apical region after culture. These genes include phytohormone-response and shoot-formation-related genes, as validated by quantitative real-time PCR assay.

Strigolactone signaling inhibition increases adventitious shoot formation on internodal segments of ipecac

Karin Okazaki et al.

Summary: SL inhibits adventitious shoot formation in ipecac, while SL-related inhibitors promote adventitious shoot formation. The results suggest that SL-related inhibitors may serve as new plant growth regulators for improving plant propagation efficiency in vitro.

Pluripotency acquisition in the middle cell layer of callus is required for organ regeneration

Ning Zhai et al.

Summary: Single-cell profiling of callus from hypocotyl explants reveals the heterogeneity and gene networks crucial for plant regeneration, highlighting the essential roles of WOX5 and WOX7. The tissue structure and molecular interactions within the callus are similar to root primordium, with WOX5 promoting endogenous auxin production and interacting with key regulators to enhance pluripotency and organ regeneration.
