The Forward Physics Facility at the High-Luminosity LHC

Jonathan L. Feng et al.

Summary: High energy collisions at the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (LHC) produce a large number of particles beyond the acceptance of existing experiments. The proposed Forward Physics Facility (FPF) will host experiments to probe standard model processes and search for physics beyond the standard model (BSM). FPF experiments will explore BSM physics through searches for new particle scattering or decay signatures and deviations from SM expectations in a low-background environment.

Central exclusive diffractive production of a single photon in high-energy proton-proton collisions within the tensor-Pomeron approach

Piotr Lebiedowicz et al.

Summary: In this study, we discuss the central-exclusive production (CEP) of photons in proton-proton collisions at high energies using the tensor-Pomeron model. We consider different fusion processes, including photon-Pomeron and photon-Reggeon fusion reactions, as well as Reggeon-Pomeron and Odderon-Pomeron fusion reactions. Our predictions show that photoproduction is an important process for midrapidity photons with low transverse momentum. This has implications for the ALICE detector at the LHC. The measurement of outgoing protons is not necessary to validate our results.

Soft-photon radiation in high-energy proton-proton collisions within the tensor-Pomeron approach: Bremsstrahlung

Piotr Lebiedowicz et al.

Summary: We discuss diffractive processes in proton-proton collisions, both with and without photon radiation, and compare our results with experimental data. The inclusion of secondary reggeons is necessary to accurately describe the low-energy data. We also investigate the photon bremsstrahlung in high-energy proton-proton collisions using the tensor-Pomeron model. These findings are significant for the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider and the LHC.

Dark sector production via proton bremsstrahlung

Saeid Foroughi-Abari et al.

Summary: Experiments using proton beams provide impressive sensitivity to new weakly coupled degrees of freedom. In this study, we revisit the production of dark vectors and scalars via proton bremsstrahlung, comparing different models and providing production rate distributions for a range of beam energies.

High-energy ππ scattering without and with photon radiation

Piotr Lebiedowicz et al.

Summary: In this paper, we discuss the processes pi pi - pi pi and pi pi - pi pi gamma from the perspective of quantum field theory (QFT). We study the theorem proposed by F.E. Low in the soft-photon limit and confirm his result for the 1/omega term. However, we disagree on the omega=0 term and investigate the discrepancy. Additionally, we calculate the amplitudes for these reactions using the tensor-Pomeron model and identify possible sources of anomalous soft photons. We introduce three soft-photon approximations (SPAs) and compare their results with those from the full model. The kinematic regions where the SPAs provide accurate representations of the full amplitude are determined. Finally, we discuss the fundamental information that can be obtained from high-energy exclusive hadronic reactions with and without soft photon radiation.
