Direct and accurate calculation of dwell times and time delays using quantum trajectories

Lucien Dupuy et al.

Summary: In this paper, an exact trajectory-ensemble reformulation of quantum mechanics is used to study the evolution of tunneling and reflection over time in a one-dimensional rectangular potential barrier. The quantum trajectory approach provides a robust, accurate, and efficient method for directly computing dwell time and time delay, and offers interesting physical insights into the tunneling process.

Quantum Trajectory Description of the Time-Independent (Inverse) Fermi Accelerator

M. S. Hussein et al.

Summary: By using a quantum trajectory description of dynamics, the (inverse) Fermi accelerator problem was re-examined. Quantum trajectories were generated from time-independent Schrodinger equation solutions, with unipolar treatment for the confined particle and bipolar treatment for the movable wall. Analytic results were presented for the exact coupled two-dimensional problem, as well as for the adiabatic and mixed quantum-classical approximations.

Polarization Potentials in Nuclear Physics

L. F. Canto et al.

Summary: This review focuses on the formalism and applications of polarization potentials in heavy ion scattering, highlighting Prof. Mahir Hussein's contributions. Specifically, Feshbach's formalism and its applications to coupling to rotational and vibrational states in both quantum mechanical and semiclassical cases are discussed.
