Low-temperature dielectric relaxation mechanism and correlated barrier hopping transport in neodymium perovskite chromite

Muhammad Javed et al.

Summary: In this study, neodymium chromite (NdCrO3) was synthesized using the sol-gel auto-combustion method. The X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that NdCrO3 has a perovskite structure with an orthorhombic unit cell and Pbnm space group symmetry. The electrical transport properties were investigated using complex impedance spectroscopy, and the results showed the contribution of grains and grain boundaries to the charge conduction and relaxation mechanism in NdCrO3. The AC conductivity analysis confirmed the correlated barrier hopping transport mechanism in NdCrO3.

S. T. Hameed et al.

Summary: Zinc oxide nanoparticles with sizes 20-80 nm were successfully prepared using the Sol-Gel technique and loaded onto a polymer blend, resulting in a notable decrease in bandgap, increase in refractive index, and enhancement in conductivity and dielectric parameters. The optimum ZnO NPs content for solid-state supercapacitors was found to be 2 wt%.

Dielectric properties of P3HT/CSA composites for energy storage applications

Cem Uludag et al.

Summary: The study focused on preparing P3HT/CSA composites and studying their frequency-dependent electrical properties. It was found that adding CSA has a positive effect on increasing the energy storage ability and conductivity of P3HT, with the composite containing 0.011 M CSA showing the best electrical performance. Additionally, P3HT was found to exhibit a phase difference close to -90 degrees at high frequencies, indicating its supercapacitive nature.

Tailoring the ferroelectric and magnetic properties of Bi5Ti3FeO15 ceramics by doping with Co and Y

Jelena Bobic et al.

Summary: The ferroelectric and magnetic properties of four-layered Aurivillius Bi5Ti3FeO15 (BFT) compounds were investigated by partially substituting Bi3+ with Y3+ and Fe3+ with Co2+. Y3+ replaces Bi ions in the pseudoperovskite layers and Co2+ replaces Fe ions in the octahedral sites. The chemically modified samples show a decrease in grain size, and Co substituted BFT ceramics exhibit ferromagnetic behavior.

Summary: In this study, the electric breakdown strength and leakage current of ferroelectric thin-film capacitors were improved by inserting ultrathin insulator layers, while maintaining a high dielectric constant and slightly reducing dielectric loss. The multilayer thin films showed compact and uniform morphologies, with significant enhancements in breakdown strength and reductions in leakage current densities.

Dielectric investigation of In4Se96-xSx semiconductor: Relaxation and conduction mechanism

Mohsin Ganaie et al.

Summary: The dielectric properties of amorphous semiconductors and the effect of sulfur concentration on them were studied. Dielectric dispersion, dipolar in nature, was observed and the decrease in dielectric parameter with sulfur concentration may be due to the decrease in density of defect states. The experimental results show that AC conductivity depends on temperature, frequency, and concentration, following the power law omega(s), with a strong correlation to the Correlated Barrier Hopping model.

Variation of leakage current conduction mechanism by heat treatment in Bi-based lead-free piezoelectric ceramics

Sangwook Kim et al.

Summary: The leakage current mechanism in the 0.75BF-0.25BT ceramics is mainly controlled by the SCLC mechanism, with differences between the sintered and quenched ceramics potentially influenced by heat treatment. The study also revealed that the P-F emission and ST emission mechanisms did not contribute to the leakage current behavior.

Esra Erbilen Tanrikulu et al.

Summary: The study investigated the complex dielectric constant, electric modulus, and AC electrical conductivity of Al/(C29H32O17)/p-Si structures. Results showed that these parameters were strongly influenced by frequency and voltage, primarily due to the distribution of surface states and series resistance in the depletion and accumulation regions.
