Resistance Risk Assessment for the New OSBP Inhibitor Y18501 in Pseudoperonospora cubensis and Point Mutations (G705V, L798W, and I812F) in PscORP1 that Confer Resistance

Zhaolin Xue et al.

Summary: Y18501 is found to be a potent inhibitor against Pseudoperonospora cubensis and a resistant subpopulation of Ps. cubensis to Y18501 has emerged in the field. The consecutive applications of Y18501 in the field have led to the rapid resistance of Ps. cubensis and decreased control efficacy of cucumber downy mildew, which can be alleviated by compounding with mancozeb. A positive cross-resistance is detected between Y18501 and oxathiapiprolin, and specific amino acid substitutions in PscORP1 confer resistance to Y18501 in Ps. cubensis.

Effective control of two genotypes of Phytophthora infestans in the field by three oxathiapiprolin fungicidal mixtures

Yigal Cohen et al.

Summary: The research found that in two field experiments, Zorvec mixtures were more effective in controlling late blight compared to traditional drugs, especially with ZE showing the most effectiveness, delaying the onset and progression of the disease. Sensitivity monitoring assays also showed no mutants of P. infestans resistant to oxathiapiprolin.

Activity and Resistance-Related Point Mutations in Target Protein PcORP1 of Fluoxapiprolin in Phytophthora capsici

Jianqiang Miao et al.

Summary: The study found that multiple point mutations in PcORP1 can confer different levels of resistance to fluoxapiprolin in Phytophthora capsici, with some mutations leading to high resistance and others only resulting in low resistance.

Evaluating the efficacy of osthole and matrine for control of Sorghum purple spot

Yubo Sun et al.

Summary: The combination of osthole and matrine showed better inhibitory effects on Sorghum purple spot compared to individual use, with the optimal mixing ratio being 1:2. Both greenhouse and field experiments demonstrated similar or superior efficacy compared to conventional fungicides, indicating that the combination can serve as an effective alternative fungicide for Sorghum purple spot.

Sensitivity of Phytophthora capsici from Tennessee to Mefenoxam, Fluopicolide, Oxathiapiprolin, Dimethomorph, Mandipropamid, and Cyazofamid

Timothy B. Siegenthaler et al.

Summary: Phytophthora blight caused by Phytophthora capsici is a destructive disease affecting vegetable production globally. Fungicides are commonly used for control, but resistance has been observed in Tennessee, particularly towards fluopicolide and cyazofamid. This study highlights the widespread fungicide resistance in P. capsici and its implications for disease management.
