Outcomes for Children With Type II and Type III Pleuropulmonary Blastoma Following Chemotherapy: A Report From the International PPB/DICER1 Registry

Kris Ann Schultz et al.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of the IVADo regimen in the treatment of pleuropulmonary blastoma (PPB) in infants and young children. The results showed that compared to conventional treatment, the IVADo regimen can improve the survival rate of children and serve as a reference for future treatment studies.

Characterizing DNA methylation signatures of retinoblastoma using aqueous humor liquid biopsy

Hong-Tao Li et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that analyzing DNA methylation in the aqueous humor of retinoblastoma patients can identify molecular subtypes and potentially predict treatment response. The findings provide valuable biomarkers for prognosis and treatment decisions.

Summary: This study investigated the correlation between chromosome abnormalities, anaplasia, digital morphometry, and progression-free survival in retinoblastoma. The findings suggest that gain of chromosome 6p is a strong prognostic biomarker associated with severe anaplasia and extraocular spread.

Richarda M. de Voer et al.

Summary: This study analyzed clinical, molecular, and genetic features of colorectal cancers in adolescents and young adults, finding that 39% of patients had a genetic tumor risk syndrome. The study highlights differences in CRC characteristics between young patients and older patients, suggesting the need for new clinical management strategies.

Lung Metastasis in Children with Differentiated Thyroid Cancer: Factors Associated with Diagnosis and Outcomes of Therapy

Alexander D. Chesover et al.

Summary: The study found that lung metastasis from differentiated thyroid cancer in children and young adults is relatively high, with characteristics including younger age, presence of LN disease, and elevated postoperative Tg. Preoperative Tg shows promise as another predictive marker, but limited sample size precludes generalization.
