Emotion as reflexive practice: A new discourse for feedback practice and research

Rola Ajjawi et al.

Summary: A critical literature review was conducted to explore the discourses of emotion in feedback practices within healthcare education. Four overlapping discourses were identified: emotion as physiological, emotion as skill, emotion as reflexive practice, and emotion as socio-cultural discourse. The study suggests the importance of studying emotion as an inevitable aspect of feedback within the healthcare landscape, and recommends a shift towards recognizing the connection between theory, practice, and emotion in future research.

A review of feedback models and typologies: Towards an integrative model of feedback elements

Ernesto Panadero et al.

Summary: This study selected 14 important feedback models for review and proposed a new comprehensive model by classifying and integrating shared elements. The model includes an expanded typology of feedback and a classification of models into five thematic areas. Each element and their relations were described, and future directions for theory and practice were provided.
