Switchable Polyacrylic Acid Polyelectrolyte Brushes for Surface Plasmon Resonance Applications

Qais M. Al-Bataineh et al.

Summary: Imaging wide-field surface plasmon resonance (SPR) microscopy sensors based on polyacrylic acid polyelectrolyte brushes (PAA PEBs) were designed to enhance the sensitivity of nano-object detection. The switching behavior of the PAA PEBs against changes in the pH values was investigated. Coating a Au-layer with PAA PEBs enhances the sensitivity of the SPR sensing device, and improves the spatial resolution of the recorded image.

The effect of side chain engineering on conjugated polymers in organic electrochemical transistors for bioelectronic applications

Yifei He et al.

Summary: This review investigates the influence of side chain molecular design on the properties and performance of organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs). By altering side chain moieties, properties such as ion permeability, solubility, flexibility, morphology, and sensitivity of organic mixed ionic/electronic conductors (OMIECs) can be adjusted, thereby tuning the parameters of OECTs.

Physical and chemical characterization of polyaniline (PANI)/indium tin oxide nanoparticles (ITONPs) nanocomposite films

Qais M. Al-Bataineh et al.

Summary: The physicochemical properties of PANI/ITONPs nanocomposite films were investigated. Increasing ITONPs concentration led to higher electrical conductivity and refractive index, while decreasing the optical bandgap energies. Introducing ITONPs also resulted in increased crystallinity and fiber diameter of the PANI films.

Studies of composite films of polyethylene oxide doped with potassium hexachloroplatinate

M-Ali AL-Akhras et al.

Summary: The permittivity and conductivity relaxation processes of PEO/K(2)PtCl(6) complex composite have been investigated. The microstructural dynamics revealed multiple relaxation processes, with translational and reorientational degrees of freedom responsible for the behavior. These relaxation behaviors are predicted to be correlated to the behavior of the polymer electrolyte below and above the glass transition temperature.

Highly crystalline conductive electrodeposited films of PANI-CSA/ CoFe2O4 nanocomposites

Mahmoud Al-Gharram et al.

Summary: Conductive and optically tunable PANI/CoFe2O4 NPs nanocomposite films were successfully prepared by potentiostatic electrochemical polymerization. The addition of CoFe2O4 NPs improved the crystallinity and conductivity of the films, and magnetic hysteresis was observed. These results indicate the potential applications of these nanocomposite films.

Synthesize, characterization, dielectric, linear and nonlinear optical properties of Ni-Al Ferrite/PANI nanocomposite film

A. M. A. Henaish et al.

Summary: In this study, NiAl-ferrite/PANI nano composite films with different Al content were successfully synthesized using a solution casting process. Characterization techniques such as XRD, FTIR, TGA, TEM, EDAX, SEM, and UV-vis were employed to analyze the thermal, dielectric, and optical properties of the films. The incorporation of nano ferrite particles in the poly aniline matrix was confirmed, and the optical properties showed non-uniform changes with increasing Al content.
