Detection of a spinning object with circular procession using an optical vortex beam

You Ding et al.

Summary: The rotational Doppler effect (RDE) is an efficient method for measuring rotational frequency using an optical vortex beam. This study analyzes the interaction mechanism between optical orbital angular momentum and a spinning object and demonstrates simultaneous measurements of two rotational frequencies. The technique expands the application of RDE in optical metrology and remote detection of targets with micro-motions.

Noncoaxial RDE of circular asymmetry optical vortex for rotating axis detection

Song Qiu et al.

Summary: This study reveals the mechanism of the noncoaxial rotational Doppler effect (RDE) of an optical vortex and demonstrates its application in discriminating the orientation of a rotating body. By precisely modulating the light field and using signal processing algorithms, the orientation of the rotating axis can be directly recognized.

Symmetry detection of rotating patterns based on rotational Doppler effect of light

Fang Han et al.

Summary: In this paper, a method for detecting the symmetry of rotating patterns using the rotational Doppler effect of light is proposed. By analyzing the amplitude of the rotational Doppler effect signal, the spiral harmonic distribution of the pattern can be measured and its symmetry can be detected. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the method.

Non-Contact Ultralow Rotational Speed Measurement of Real Objects Based on Rotational Doppler Velocimetry

Yuan Ren et al.

Summary: This article presents a technique for rotational speed measurement based on the non-contact optical method using superposition vortex light. The ultralow rotational speed as low as 0.001 r/s can be accurately measured with high accuracy using this method. The detection system has a simple structure and non-contact features, allowing near real-time speed acquisition. Experimental results are in good agreement with the theoretical value, filling the gap in ultralow rotational speed measurement.
