Laser-reduced graphene oxide for a flexible liquid sliding sensing surface

Xing-Chen Han et al.

Summary: Flexible electronic skin, mimicking human skin, is a sensor system that has been successfully developed. However, the sliding sensing technology on its surface remains challenging. In this study, a flexible droplet sliding sensing surface was proposed and fabricated using laser-reduced graphene oxide. The surface exhibited porous structures and low surface energy, allowing for the infusion of lubricants and the fabrication of stable slippery surfaces. The sliding of droplets on the surface was enabled by a combination of tribo-electricity and electrostatic induction. This research has significant potential applications in intelligent robots and the medical field.

Carnivorous plants inspired shape-morphing slippery surfaces

Dong-Dong Han et al.

Summary: This article reports a moisture responsive shape-morphing slippery surface that enables simultaneous moisture responsive shape-morphing and oil-lubricated water repellency. It is prepared by creating biomimetic microstructures on graphene oxide membrane and subsequent lubricating with a thin layer of oil on the laser structured reduced GO surface. The integration of this surface with an LRGO/GO bilayer actuator enables droplet sliding ability and enhanced moisture deformation performance, demonstrating versatility for active/passive trapping, droplet manipulation, and sensing.

High-Resolution and High-Sensitivity Flexible Capacitive Pressure Sensors Enhanced by a Transferable Electrode Array and a Micropillar-PVDF Film

Zebang Luo et al.

Summary: Flexible pressure sensors are being increasingly studied for mimicking human skin to sense external pressure. Achieving fully biomimetic skins requires sensors with high resolution and high sensitivity, and a micropillar-PVDF dielectric layer has been successfully designed to meet these requirements. The sensor matrix based on the micropillar-PVDF film and electrode array has shown high resolution and sensitivity in detecting pressure distribution and mapping objects with various geometries.
