Descemet Stripping Endothelial Keratoplasty: Fifteen-Year Outcomes

Marianne O. Price et al.

Summary: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the 15-year outcomes of Descemet stripping endothelial keratoplasty (DSEK). The results showed that DSEK provided excellent long-term visual rehabilitation and graft survival in this early cohort.

Long-term Outcomes of Descemet Stripping Endothelial Keratoplasty: Ten-Year Graft Survival and Endothelial Cell Loss

Lanxing Fu et al.

Summary: The 10-year DSEK survival rate was 79% for all eyes, and 92% for Fuchs endothelial dystrophy. Preoperative glaucoma, previous glaucoma surgery, and regrafts were significant risk factors for graft failure.

Corneal Donor Characteristics and Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty Success: A Scoping Review

Weinel Luke et al.

Summary: The influence of donor characteristics on preoperative DMEK preparation and intraoperative graft manipulation has not been extensively studied, but there is evidence suggesting that donors with diabetes may increase the risk of tearing, and younger donors may produce tighter scrolls that complicate intraoperative graft unfolding. Further research is needed to better understand how donor characteristics impact these processes.
