Kaempferol reduces obesity, prevents intestinal inflammation, and modulates gut microbiota in high-fat diet mice

Yifei Bian et al.

Summary: Kaempferol, a flavonoid found in dietary sources, demonstrates anti-obesity properties by improving gut health and inflammation in obese animal models. Experimental evidence suggests that kaempferol supplementation can alleviate metabolic disorders associated with obesity.

GOS Ameliorates Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease Induced by High Fat and High Sugar Diet through Lipid Metabolism and Intestinal Microbes

Shuting Qiu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the therapeutic effect of galactose oligosaccharide (GOS) on nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) through in vivo and in vitro experiments and explored the mechanism by which GOS improves liver lipid metabolism and inflammation through liver and intestinal microbiological analysis. The results showed that GOS can promote body thermogenesis, regulate lipolysis, and accelerate glycine and cholesterol metabolism. GOS also reduced the contents of total cholesterol and triglyceride in cells, reduced the accumulation of lipid droplets, and altered the composition of the intestinal microbiota. These findings provide a basis for the use of GOS as a health food with anti-NAFLD functions.

Effects of sleep deprivation on coronary heart disease

Ran Wei et al.

Summary: The presence of artificial light allows humans to be active 24/7, but sleep deprivation is a serious health issue that can increase the risk of coronary heart disease. There are multiple mechanisms, including inflammatory response, lipid metabolism, oxidative stress, and endothelial function, that contribute to cardiovascular lesions. Therefore, early assessment of sleep deprivation is crucial in preventing the harmful consequences of coronary heart disease.

Lily bulbs' polyphenols extract ameliorates oxidative stress and lipid accumulation in vitro and in vivo

Juan Kan et al.

Summary: The study identified 14 polyphenolic compounds in lily bulbs, showing their potential to reduce oxidative stress, lipid accumulation, and improve lipid metabolism in both cellular and in vivo experiments. Lily bulb polyphenols could be a promising complementary therapeutic option for combating obesity and related metabolic disorders.
