Barriers and facilitators for adopting a healthy lifestyle among Latina cancer survivors: A qualitative descriptive study

Summary: The purpose of the study was to explore the barriers and facilitators for adopting healthy lifestyle behaviors among Latina cancer survivors. Lack of knowledge about healthy lifestyle behaviors could prevent participants from adopting a healthy lifestyle, while gaining new knowledge about healthy lifestyle behaviors was a facilitator for changing lifestyle. Family responsibility and wearable technology could both prevent and motivate the participants to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Lifestyle intervention for Latina cancer survivors and caregivers: the Nuestra Salud randomized pilot trial

Summary: The study demonstrated the feasibility and acceptability of an integrated symptom management and lifestyle intervention among Latina cancer survivors and their caregivers, showing positive effects on nutrition, physical activity, and symptom management. Larger trials are needed to further evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention in increasing adherence to cancer prevention guidelines.
