Nuclides selection method for nuclear reactor shielding based on non-dominated sorting

Li Rui et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a non-dominated sorting method based on the neutron energy spectrum to select shielding materials for nuclear reactors, with the primary purpose of protecting the internal structure and staff from radiation damage. The method is applied to Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) and Sodium-cooled Fast Reactor (SFR), and compared with the Reactor Monte Carlo code (RMC). The results show high coincidence rates and significantly shorter calculation time for the non-dominated sorting method, providing an efficient approach for shielding nuclide selection in different types of reactors.
