Multi-component AKNS systems

Metin Gurses et al.

Summary: We study two members of the multi-component AKNS hierarchy, namely the multi-NLS and multi-MKdV systems. The Hirota bilinear forms of these equations are derived, and soliton solutions are obtained. All possible local and nonlocal reductions of these systems of equations are found, and a prescription is given to obtain their soliton solutions. (2 + 1)-dimensional extensions of the multi-component AKNS systems are also derived.

Riemann-Hilbert problems and soliton solutions for a generalized coupled Sasa-Satsuma equation

Yaqing Liu et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the multi-component Sasa-Satsuma integrable hierarchies using an arbitrary-order matrix spectral problem based on the zero curvature formulation. A generalized coupled Sasa-Satsuma equation is derived from the multi-component SasaSatsuma integrable hierarchies with a bi-Hamiltonian structure. The inverse scattering transform of the generalized coupled Sasa-Satsuma equation is obtained using the spatial matrix spectral problem and the Riemann-Hilbert method, allowing for the derivation of N-soliton solutions. The dynamics of one- and two-soliton solutions are discussed and presented graphically, and asymptotic analyses of the presented two-soliton solution are performed.

A novel Riemann-Hilbert approach via t-part spectral analysis for a physically significant nonlocal integrable nonlinear Schrodinger equation

Jianping Wu

Summary: In this paper, a novel Riemann-Hilbert (RH) approach is introduced for a physically significant nonlocal integrable nonlinear Schrodinger equation. The approach performs spectral analysis from the t-part of the Lax pair to formulate the desired RH problem. Compared with the traditional RH method, the novel RH approach in this paper has the advantages of simpler symmetry relations of scattering data and easily obtaining general multi-soliton solutions in the reflectionless cases. Additionally, special soliton dynamics are explored theoretically and demonstrated graphically with their three-dimensional profiles to showcase the remarkable features of the obtained multi-soliton solutions.

Riemann-Hilbert approach and soliton classification for a nonlocal integrable nonlinear Schrodinger equation of reverse-time type

Jianping Wu

Summary: The paper presents a Riemann-Hilbert (RH) approach for a physically meaningful nonlocal integrable nonlinear Schrodinger equation of reverse-time type. The obtained results include symmetry relations of the scattering data, general multi-soliton solutions in reflectionless cases, and long-time behaviors of solutions in reflection cases. Furthermore, special soliton dynamics are explored and illustrated using Mathematica, demonstrating the remarkable features of the obtained multi-soliton solutions.

Integrable nonlocal derivative nonlinear Schrodinger equations

Mark J. Ablowitz et al.

Summary: Integrable standard and nonlocal derivative nonlinear Schrodinger equations are investigated and the direct and inverse scattering solutions are constructed using both Riemann-Hilbert and Gel'fand-Levitan-Marchenko approaches. Soliton solutions are also obtained. As a typical application, the asymptotic limits for these derivative NLS equations from a nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation are shown.

N-soliton, M-breather and hybrid solutions of a time-dependent Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation

Jianping Wu

Summary: In this paper, the Hirota bilinear method is extended to the time-dependent KP equation, and N-soliton solutions are derived using a new property of the bilinear operator. The M-breather solutions and hybrid solutions composed of solitons and breathers are also constructed by imposing parameter constraints. The obtained solutions exhibit different dynamic behaviors based on the chosen time-dependent coefficients, suggesting the physical importance of the time-dependent KP equation in describing natural phenomena.

Reduction approach and three types of multi-soliton solutions of the shifted nonlocal mKdV equation

Jianping Wu

Summary: In this paper, a reduction approach is proposed for calculating multi-soliton solutions of the shifted nonlocal mKdV equation. The approach successfully reduces the N-soliton solution of the AKNS (q, r) system to three types of multi-soliton solutions of the shifted nonlocal mKdV equation, which are classified based on the spectrum configurations. Moreover, specific solutions are investigated theoretically and graphically.

Long-Time Asymptotics for the Spin-1 Gross-Pitaevskii Equation

Xianguo Geng et al.

Summary: Based on the spectral analysis and scattering matrix of the 4x4 Lax pair associated with the spin-1 Gross-Pitaevskii equation, the solution to the Cauchy problem is transformed into a Riemann-Hilbert problem. By extending the Deift-Zhou nonlinear steepest descent method, a model Riemann-Hilbert problem is established for the solution, leading to the long-time asymptotics of the solution.

Summary: The paper derives multi-soliton solutions and breathers to the coupled higher-order nonlinear Schrodinger equation using the Riemann-Hilbert approach. It demonstrates the significant impact of higher-order linear and nonlinear terms on wave dynamics. The characteristics and collision dynamics of explicit soliton solutions and breathers are shown graphically and discussed in detail.

Summary: This study analyzes a type of nonlocal reverse-spacetime integrable PT-symmetric mKdV equations by making nonlocal reductions and establishing associated Riemann-Hilbert problems. The solutions to Riemann-Hilbert problems in the reflectionless case enable the presentation of solitons to the equations.
