The First Photometric and Spectroscopic Study of Contact Binary V2840 Cygni

Ravi Raja Pothuneni et al.

Summary: This study presents the first photometric, spectroscopic and period variation studies of neglected short-period eclipsing binary V2840 Cygni. The weak-contact nature and high mass ratio of V2840 Cygni motivate further investigation into this type of binary systems. The period variation study reveals a secular period decrease and a superimposed cyclic variation, indicating mass transfer and the possible presence of a third body. The spectroscopic study provides evidence of magnetic activity and ongoing mass transfer in V2840 Cygni.

The first photometric, period variation, and flare activity studies of TIC 24233294: Reviewing with the latest results of well-studied late-type active binaries

Rukmini Jagirdara et al.

Summary: In this study, we investigate the photometric, period variation, and flaring activity of TIC 24233294, and also review and report on the flaring activity of five well-studied eclipsing binaries. Using TESS data, we analyze the continuous variations in the light curves of TIC 24233294 and BX Tri. The binaries studied are M-type dwarfs in a detached/semi-detached configuration. We identify flares in all binaries and calculate their characteristic parameters.

A Photometric Study of Two Contact Binaries: CRTS J025408.1+265957 and CRTS J012111.1+272933

Shuo Ma et al.

Summary: The study conducted new photometric observations and spectroscopic analysis on two contact binaries, indicating that the spots in these binaries may migrate or disappear, and the orbital periods are increasing possibly due to mass transfer leading to evolution towards semi-detached configurations.

Photometric Study and Absolute Parameter Estimation of Six Totally Eclipsing Contact Binaries

Kai Li et al.

Summary: The Gaia distances can be used to estimate absolute parameters for most contact binaries, and A- and W-subtype contact binaries may have different formation channels. The photometric mass ratios are in good agreement with the spectroscopic mass ratios for almost all totally eclipsing systems.
