BoxPolyp: Boost Generalized Polyp Segmentation Using Extra Coarse Bounding Box Annotations

Jun Wei et al.

Summary: In this paper, a boosted BoxPolyp model is proposed to overcome the data shortage and impaired generalization issue in existing polyp segmentation methods by combining accurate mask and coarse bounding box annotations. A fusion filter sampling module is introduced to generate pixel-wise pseudo labels, reducing noise and improving performance. Furthermore, an image consistency loss is designed to enhance the robustness of the model. Experimental results on five benchmarks demonstrate that the proposed model outperforms previous state-of-the-art methods significantly.
