Infrared thermographic inspection of 3D hybrid aluminium-CFRP composite using different spectral bands and new unsupervised probabilistic low-rank component factorization model

Henrique Fernandes et al.

Summary: In this study, infrared thermography is used to detect defects on a 3D hybrid aluminium-CFRP composite structure. A new unsupervised probabilistic low-rank component factorization thermographic denoising model is proposed to improve image performance and defect visualization. Signal profiles and standard deviation analysis are used to assess the results and compare with x-ray CT inspections.

Prediction of Wood Moisture Content Based on THz Time-Domain Spectroscopy

Ruifeng Duan et al.

Summary: This paper presents a new method for predicting wood moisture content using terahertz time-domain spectroscopy. The study used Douglas fir wood with different moisture content and extracted the optical parameters of the sample using THz-TDS. The absorption coefficient spectrum was processed to obtain the first and second derivative spectra, and the characteristic frequency for predicting moisture content was selected using the successive projections algorithm. A regression prediction model based on the second derivative spectrum showed the best prediction effect.
