Lunar Heat Flow: Global Predictions and Reduced Heat Flux

Summary: Geothermal heat flux provides a unique perspective for understanding the internal composition of a body. By combining global orbital, landed mission, returned sample, and meteorite data, we have developed a forward model of lunar heat flux that is consistent with existing data. This model can serve as a framework for future geothermal and geochemical measurements on the lunar surface.

Reconciling the Infrared and Microwave Observations of the Lunar South Pole: A Study on Subsurface Temperature and Regolith Density

Summary: By comparing measurements from different instruments on different lunar orbiters, this study reveals differences in thermal properties of lunar regolith between permanently shadowed regions (PSRs) and non-PSRs, further confirming that the regolith in PSRs has lower thermal conductivity and higher porosity than non-PSRs.
