Novel Electrochemical Aptasensor Based on Ordered Mesoporous Carbon/2D Ti3C2 MXene as Nanocarrier for Simultaneous Detection of Aminoglycoside Antibiotics in Milk

Fengling Yue et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel electrochemical aptasensor was constructed using a broad-spectrum aptamer as the biorecognition element on a screen-printed carbon electrode. The addition of ordered mesoporous carbon (OMC) on 2D Ti3C2 MXene improved the stability of the aptasensor and prevented the stacking of Ti3C2 sheets. The aptasensor exhibited a significant decline in differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) signals in the presence of aminoglycoside antibiotics (AAs). The aptasensor achieved a wide linear range and a low detection limit, and was successfully applied for the detection of multi-residuals of AAs in milk.

Tetracycline photolysis revisited: Overlooked day-night succession of the parent compound and metabolites in natural surface waters and associated ecotoxicity

Anping Peng et al.

Summary: This study investigated the photolysis of tetracycline and its metabolites in natural surface waters and ultrapure water under simulated day/night cycling. Previously unrecognized and pH-and temperature-dependent dark interconversions of tetracycline metabolites were observed. The study also identified a range of isomerized, hydroxylated, demethylated, deaminated, and open-ring photoproducts. The bacterial toxicity of the photoproducts increased with irradiation time, suggesting that product mixtures retain ecotoxicity. The study provides new insights into the photochemical behavior of tetracycline and its ecological risk in aquatic environments.
