Blind and Compact Denoising Network Based on Noise Order Learning

Keunsoo Ko et al.

Summary: A lightweight blind image denoiser, BCDNet, is proposed in this paper to achieve excellent trade-offs between performance and network complexity. Through the compact denoising network CDNet and the guidance network GNet, BCDNet effectively removes noise adaptively according to the severity while reducing the number of parameters.

AVLSM: Adaptive Variational Level Set Model for Image Segmentation in the Presence of Severe Intensity Inhomogeneity and High Noise

Qing Cai et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a novel adaptive variational level set model (AVLSM) that integrates an adaptive scale bias field correction term and a denoising term into one level set framework to simultaneously address intensity inhomogeneity and noise in image segmentation. The experimental results on synthetic and real images demonstrate the superiority of AVLSM over most state-of-the-art level set models in terms of accuracy, robustness, and running time.

Completely Blind Quality Assessment of User Generated Video Content

Parimala Kancharla et al.

Summary: This work addresses the challenging problem of blind video quality assessment for user generated content. The proposed solution is inspired by the hypothesis of perceptual straightening in the human visual system and utilizes a measure of temporal quality combined with a blind spatial quality metric to design a blind video quality predictor called STEM. The results demonstrate that STEM achieves state-of-the-art performance on various UGC VQA datasets.

Level set method for automated 3D brain tumor segmentation using symmetry analysis and kernel induced fuzzy clustering

Asieh Khosravanian et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a new level set method called Fuzzy Kernel Level Set (FKLS) for brain tumor segmentation in MRI images. The method uses fuzzy c-means clustering and kernel mapping to transfer the image and extract the volume of interest. Experimental results show that the method outperforms existing segmentation methods in terms of accuracy.

DerainGAN: Single image deraining using wasserstein GAN

Sahil Yadav et al.

Summary: This study introduces a model called 'DerainGAN' which achieves better performance in removing raindrops from images compared to most state-of-the-art methods, using Wasserstein GAN and perceptual loss for learning. Through multiple experiments and ablation studies, the model's superior performance in deraining tasks is confirmed, and its robustness and efficiency are evaluated on several datasets. The proposed DerainGAN significantly outperforms almost all benchmarked methods, demonstrating an average improvement of 10% in PSNR and 20% in SSIM, and proving to be one of the fastest methods in image processing in certain cases.
