Identification and Spectroscopic Characterization of 128 New Herbig Stars

Miguel Vioque et al.

Summary: We present optical spectroscopy observations of 145 high-mass pre-main-sequence candidates, providing evidence for the Herbig nature of 128 sources. The new sources show a uniform distribution in mass and age, and the analysis of their accretion rates reveals a break in accretion properties at approximately 3-4 solar masses. These findings support previous research on Herbig stars and suggest the presence of intense inner-disk photoevaporation for sources with masses above approximately 7 solar masses.

A Catalog of Early-type Hα Emission-line Stars and 62 Newly Confirmed Herbig Ae/Be Stars from LAMOST Data Release 7

Yun-Jin Zhang et al.

Summary: This article presents a catalog of early-type emission-line stars based on 30,023 spectra from LAMOST Data Release 7. The catalog categorizes the spectra into different morphological types and provides specific information on stars with stellar winds or accretion flows. The article introduces a new criterion to distinguish between HAeBes and CAeBes and selects candidates based on this criterion. It also discusses the confirmed HAeBes, their distances, and their locations.

Identification and Parameter Determination of F-type Herbig Stars from LAMOST DR8

Yun-Jin Zhang et al.

Summary: We identified 20 F-type Herbig stars and provided a list of 22 pre-main-sequence candidates. Various parameters of the Herbig stars were derived based on optical spectra, photometry, and pre-main-sequence evolutionary tracks. The spectral energy distribution and spectral analysis revealed information about the properties and evolution stages of the Herbig stars. Additionally, a statistical analysis of disk properties of known Herbig stars was conducted.

Identification of new classical Ae stars in the Galaxy using LAMOST DR5

R. Anusha et al.

Summary: This study systematically identified and characterized a sample of classical Ae stars in the Galaxy for the first time, confirming their evolutionary phase and spectral type. Some interesting phenomena, such as the decrease in emission line strength with spectral type, were also observed. Further studies with higher resolution spectra are needed to explore the correlations with the rotation rates of classical Ae stars.

The Helicenes: Potential Carriers of Diffuse Interstellar Bands

Jorge O. Ona-Ruales et al.

Summary: This work explores the potential of helicenes as carriers of the diffuse interstellar bands, with [26]helicene identified as a possible candidate for the 4502 angstrom DIB. Statistical and spectroscopic analysis support this identification, while aromaticity arguments suggest additional stability for helicenes. The study also proposes a feasible mechanism for the formation of helicenes in the interstellar medium.

Estimating Distances from Parallaxes. V. Geometric and Photogeometric Distances to 1.47 Billion Stars in Gaia Early Data Release 3

C. A. L. Bailer-Jones et al.

Summary: Stellar distances are essential in astrophysics, and the publication of 1.47 billion stellar parallaxes from Gaia significantly contributes to this field. Despite challenges with faint or distant stars, a probabilistic approach using a three-dimensional model of the Galaxy has been developed to estimate geometric and photogeometric distances. Photogeometric estimates generally show higher accuracy and precision compared to geometric distances, especially for stars with poor parallaxes, and are provided in a publicly available catalog.

Discovery of 2716 hot emission-line stars from LAMOST DR5

Baskaran Shridharan et al.

Summary: This study presents a catalog of 3339 hot emission-line stars identified from O, B and A type spectra provided by LAMOST Data Release 5. Using an automated Python routine, a total of 4138 good emission-line spectra were identified and re-estimated, leading to the identification of classical Be, classical Ae, and Herbig Ae/Be stars. The study also reports potential candidates and new detections of emission-line spectra, providing a homogeneous set for detailed emission phenomenon studies.

What happened before? Disks around the precursors of young Herbig Ae/Be stars

P-G Valegard et al.

Summary: By studying the circumstellar disks around intermediate-mass Herbig Ae/Be stars, researchers have gained insights into the formation and evolution of these disks. The similarities between Herbig Ae/Be stars and intermediate-mass T Tauri (IMTT) stars suggest two different evolutionary paths for Group I and Group II disks.

Optical spectroscopy of Galactic field classical Be stars

Gourav Banerjee et al.

Summary: The study analyzes emission lines of classical Be stars in the Galaxy and re-estimates the extinction parameter for sample stars. The research suggests considering A(V) when measuring Balmer decrement values in classical Be stars. It also finds that some stars exhibit optically thick circumstellar discs and explores the formation regions of Ca II emission lines in the circumstellar discs.
