Triazine and Thiophene-Containing Conjugated Polymer Network Emitter-Based Solution-Processable Stable Blue Organic LEDs

Neelam Gupta et al.

Summary: The development of solution-processable blue electroluminescence materials for OLED applications has attracted significant research interest. However, the lack of side chains or functional groups on the backbones of framework/network materials makes them generally insoluble and less solution-processable for electronic device applications. In this study, two triazine-based donor-acceptor conjugated polymer networks (CPNs) with highly fluorescent and wide band gaps were reported, and side chains were introduced to improve their solution-processability. The physicochemical and optoelectronic properties of these emitters were characterized, and the OLEDs based on these CPNs showed promising performance for blue emission, indicating the high potential of conjugated polymer network emitters for future OLED applications.

Bifunctional Bicarbazole-Benzophenone-Based Twisted Donor-Acceptor-Donor Derivatives for Deep-Blue and Green OLEDs

Prakalp Gautam et al.

Summary: Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) have made significant technological advancements in various industries and are considered a mainstream technology. This study introduces new bicarbazole-benzophenone-based twisted donor-acceptor-donor (D-A-D) derivatives as bi-functional materials for OLEDs. These materials exhibit excellent properties such as high decomposition and glass transition temperatures, high photoluminescence quantum yield, wide bandgap, and short decay time. They are utilized as blue emitters and host materials for deep-blue and green OLEDs, showing promising performance in terms of efficiency and quantum yield. These easily synthesized, economical materials have the potential to be used in cost-effective and high-performance OLED applications, particularly in displays.

Blue fluorescent Zinc(II) complexes bearing schiff base ligand for solution-processed organic light-emitting diodes with CIEy ≤ 0.09

Jaydip D. Solanki et al.

Summary: Inspired by the blue fluorescent feature of metal schiff-base complexes, blue fluorescent Zn(II) complexes (Zn-1 and Zn-2) with pyrazolone based azomethine ligands were synthesized. Their photophysical and electrochemical properties were investigated and the coordination adjustment around the Zn(II) metal ion was determined by single crystal X-ray structure analysis. The involvement of metal ions and Schiff base ligands in the formation of frontier orbitals was studied using DFT and TDDFT methods. Electroluminescent devices were fabricated and showed good performance with a low turn-on voltage of 3.5 V and a maximum external quantum efficacy of 3.2% for deep-blue emission at a CIEy of 0.09.
